1987 XLT Lariat V8 302 C6, 2wd. I am in the process of tearing down the engine. Removed the driver side exhaust manny today, in two pieces. No other sections of the engine show any signs of heat stress. No Ford markings on exhaust. On the underneath side at number six I see the raised marking "China". WTF!
Someone pipe in and please tell me this is an aftermarket and not OEM exhaust manny. To cool off and maintain, I already have replacement shorties. Put them on today to check all the clearances and alignments. Put them back in the box happy.
Tomorrow, weather allowing, I will block the tranny and pull the engine out. Then next week I can go shopping.

Originals most likely cracked, replaced with aftermarket chicom manifolds, probably Doorman, all orig manifolds have Ford and a part number on them.
