help identifying wire

My truck 1996 f150 4.9l. Will not start this wire is disconnected not sure where it goes. We were thinking it connects to one if the coil wires. Any ideas.? It comes out if the wire loom by the two coil wires and has a grey plug in the middle if it sorry for the scrappy pics

That's for the noise capacitor. It isn't going to keep the truck from starting.

To the noise capacitor, which looks like it's missing. You don't need it, as long as the radio doesn't make unwanted noise while the truck is running.
