It has been confirmed that the oil was not coming through the EGR...
This weekend my son and I tore the intake back off, and re-installed it correctly.. Once the Intake was removed, it was obvious that I messed up on my initial installation.. I found out I installed the gaskets upside down, did not install the oil jacket gasket and did not put make a gasket around the water ports. Well, I should have laid off the beer when putting it back together.. The manual says to torq Intake bolts at 33 ft lbs for 3/8's and 25 ft lbs for 5/16 I thought mine were 3/8 so, I shot for 30 ft lbs. I made it to 28 and handed it off to my boy, telling him to get it to 30... He got 6 done and then SNAP! I made the executive decision to leave the intake on and roll on.. The reason I did this was because the bolt that broke was within an inch to another. I am confident that the intake is sealed.

That all being said,,, the idle is till erratic, to a small degree. I am going to take it to for a ride in minutes but, does anyone think that the Edlebrock intake is causing too much problems with my SD system?

As of last weekend,,,I am STILL getting oil behind the throttle body, where it bolts to the upper plenum of the intake manifold. I have rooted out the EGR as being the problem, the Crankcase breather hose is not the problem either. The truck is running great except for it dies when coming to a stop, after letting off the throttle.

I have no idea where this oil is coming from but again, it is puddling up right behind the throttle body, where it bolts to the upper plenum of the intake manifold. I am no engineer, on motors but, I know that the pistons suck air from the outside, into the air filter, through the tubes, into the throttle body, and into the intake,,,down to the piston cavity.. So, thinking about that, where could the oil come from? Through the airbox, through the tubes from the crankcase breather hose, makes sense but, I have removed that from the airbox and still got oil. I have closed off the EGR and still got oil.

So, here is my direct question; is there anywhere else oil can come from that I am not thinking about??????

Maybe it's not oil ? Just thinking it could be crap coming up from your charcoal canister through the purge valve line. Try pulling that little hose off and see if there's any crap in it.
Might have to clean or replace your charcoal canister.

Probably not too many old timers on here that remember working on that year truck or have had one recently enough to have dealt with that problem. Hope you find the problem.

It's oil that's being sucked up from the hose that goes from the filler neck on the valve cover to the intake pipe. Seen it a million times, it's the same on my truck.
