Default Actual oil pressure gauge- 1995 F150 5.0

Lately the dummy gauge has been reading below normal in my 95 with the 302, and I decided I'd just buy an actual oil pressure gauge. Is it possible to just wire in the new gauge to the wires for the one in the dash at the sensor to not have the CEL come on or no? Also, how much of a pain is it to change the sensor? My uncle has a new one and wants me to replace it even though it might not be the issue

It's not a sensor. It's a sender. Try putting the one your uncle has in. It's not a complicated job.
A 'real' oil pressure gauge is not electric. If what you bought goes to an electric gauge, it's not a 'real' oil pressure gauge, just a different electric sender system.
