1up - Factory tow mirrors.

I upgraded my 2011 a few months back and will never look back... Get it. The field of view is so much better. I test drove a 2013 with regular mirrors a few weeks back. When the sales person asked what I'd change about the truck the only thing I could think of was the mirrors.

Just got F150 XLT, XTR, Canadian.
**** makes some great extensions for the stock non-tow mirrors. They slide over the mirror and are as stable as the stock mirror. No shaking.

I towed a 8.5' wide boat trailer down PCH. The stock 2008 F150 heated mirrors are large enough to see down the guide rails. Maneuvering through a Costco parking lot was fine, never lost sight of the wheels on those tight turns. I think the extended mirrors may be beneficial for wider boats requiring a permit or if hauling was a regular occurance.

Hi, Glory Bound and welcome to F150forum.

Ford OEM tow mirrors now come in three versions.

1] El Cheapo are the ones that are part of the max tow pkg on XL without power mirrors. Those are black, manual glass, manual telescoping. MSRP for the pair is about $375 from the F-150 accessories catalog.

2] Much nicer are the ones that come on XL with power mirrors, XLT, and FX trim. Those have power glass and manual telescoping, puddle lights, heated glass, turn signals, and with an option of memory. The ones that come on the FX with Luxury pkg have memory, so the ones with memory are available (for more money) if your F-150 has memory mirrors. MSRP is a bit over $440 for the pair without memory from the F-150 accessories catalog. Discount price about $340 from Tousley:
Tow mirrors from Tousley Ford Parts

3] The really nice ones come with the max tow pkg on 2013 Lariat and above trim. In addition to the features of 2] above, these have memory, power fold and power telescope. Memory, power fold and power telescope won't work unless your current mirrors have those features. Those are over $500.

Here are some photos from the drivers seat towing an 8'6" wide Outrage 26 (30' OAL).

The stock mirrors are more than adequate.

The view with the tow mirrors without towing anything has made it so every other vehicle I drive that doesn't have tow mirrors it seems like I can't see

Default **** 11800 towing mirrors for F-150

When I bought my Heartland Wilderness travel trailer, I bought a pair of **** 11800 slip on towing mirrors.

Almost perfect for my application. I agree with BCMIF150 comments, but...

Two problems, both related to the right (passenger) side mirror.
1. The adjustment of the tow mirror in its slip-on frame does not allow me to see the right rear corner of my trailer. The best I can get is a field of view about 4 feet to the right of my trailer. By moving my head over the console, I can see the right side of the trailer, but that can be disorienting, especially at night.
2. The stock mirror in its stock frame shows only the side of the trailer. Once again, I cannot see the back right corner of my trailer. Since the image in the stock mirror is basically useless when towing, I find it visually confusing. I blocked out the view of the right hand side stock mirror by wrapping it with a plastic shopping bag (temporary solution). It helped a lot, especially when driving at night.

It ain't pretty, but it helps me avoid accidents.
