Agreed. You pay very little additional money for the 350. I'll never buy another 250.

Clarification: The 2016 F-350 SRW has varying amounts of GVWR, so not all have 1,500 pounds more GVWR than the F-250.

All F-250s have 10,000 pounds GVWR, but the GVWR for F-350 SRW diesel varies from 10,500 to 11,500, depending on cab, bed, and drivetrain. "My" F-350 SRW (CrewCab 4x2 longbed PSD) has GVWR of 11,500, so that's where I get the 1,500 pounds difference.

Still over IMO. Those are dry weights as you mentioned. He needs a 7500 GVWR (this is the loaded weight) or less. 7500 GVWR is basically the limit of the F150. It will vary between 5k and maybe 9k GVWRs for a HD Payload Package truck.

Buying trailers and camping will quickly eat up you payload and hitch rating. That trailer will still exceed both.

What's the GVWR of that trailer?

his gvwr is 7700 and his truck weight with him in it is 5900, seems like payload would be closer to 1800 not 1550. My truck is a 157 SCREW (2014) and has a payload of 1550 with a GVWR of 7350. Somethings not passing sniff test.

Is there something about the math that he does not understand? A dry weight of 7,200 will not work. Again suggest that he spend some effort READING to learn how his payload translates into max loaded wet trailer weight.

With a payload of just over 1500lb ALL of this type of trailer is way too much for his truck. Pure and simple. There are no magic bullets here. It is a numbers game. More truck or less trailer.

Well if his GVWR is 7700 and payload of 1550 lbs, then his truck empty is not 5900 but closer to 6150 lbs. My 2010 Fx4 was 6300 lbs.

His could have been weighed with low fuel and the passenger may have been standing off the scale. Or the scale messed up. Yep something is off a bit but sounds like an honest mistake.

One data point my 2010 F150 Lariat two wheel drive Supercab has a payload of only 1450 pounds. Once you option up a truck, the payload available goes down, down, down.
