Installing a front Brake Line Lock for Boat Ramp
I just bought a 2016 F150 XLT 2WD. I have a small boat that I put in the water a few times a week. You might think that an F150 should be able to pull a little 18 ft boat without any problems and it sure can! However, the problem is the 2WD ...no matter how big and bad *** your truck is if it gets on the slime of a boat ramp it's going in the water. That's because when you put the truck in park you are only locking the rear wheels and the same applies for the parking brake. How do I know? I had a truck slide right down the ramp and completely go under water. BY FAR the most embarrassing event of my life! So as you can understand I am a nervous wreck every time I back down the ramp!.. Anyway, I was thinking of installing a front line brake line lock. Has anyone installed a line lock specifically for this purpose? Anyone got any recommendations. I'm assuming I have ABS.

Lol all good. You could also cut a 2x4 the exact length to press and hold your brake pedal down? Wedge it in when you step out of the truck?

Yeah.. 4WD would of been a better choice.

Tell the dealer you made an honest mistake and would like the same deal on a 4x4. They'll unwind the deal and switch it out.
Don't know unless you ask. Maybe even take the time to write a formal letter to the GM. Worth a shot.

The dealer would still make the same amount of money and have you as a future customer. Seems like a no brainier to me.
Completely different story than just wanting all your money back.

I had never heard of dealerships doing this before, but in 2010 I took back and extended cab XLT and got a SuperCrew FX4 Luxury after 2 days of the back seat room. The dealership had no problem selling me a truck for $10k more and didn't have to go through trade in stuff.
Of course that new truck turned out to be a lemon, but sh*t happens.
Good luck OP.

This! I do this with mine at certain ramps in my area and mine IS a 4X4. It's just an extra precaution. Go to a trailer supply store and get the heavy rubber ones not the cheapie plastic ones from Walmart.
