Finally got my Trailer Toad hooked up
#11
Sorry - photobucket is being a beotch and not letting my pictures be linked to the forum.
And I'm unable to edit my previous posts in order to load the pictures from a different source.
So....here are some of the pictures I had initially loaded in previous posts in this thread.
Bob
Here's the trailer hooked up to the Trailer Toad, and the Toad hooked to the truck. All the 675 lbs of tongue weight is supported by the Trailer Toad - none is transmitted to the hitch, so the tongue weight doesn't use up any of my payload capacity. I have my total payload capacity available to load stuff in the cab and bed of the truck:
Below you can see I pulled the pin from the hitch receiver and pulled the truck forward a couple feet. You can see that the tongue jack is fully retracted and all of the 675 lbs of tongue weight is supported by the Trailer Toad. Also, the shank of the Toad is drooping down - it just weighs a couple lbs so it's easy to raise up to insert it into the truck's receiver:
Below is a sticker on the Trailer Toad that says it's a "hitch extension". It doesn't require any tag or registration:

Links are not working for me?

Do you see pictures in the first post of this thread?
How 'bout post# 11?
I didn't see any pictures in the original post - just some stupid alert from photobucket that I'm over my bandwidth limit that replaced the pictures I had posted up.
In post# 11 I loaded pictures directly from my computer, and they are showing up when I look at the post - I hope they're viewable by other forum members.

You can't use ez pass with it. Here all tolls go by number of axles on each side. So the truck is 2 axles, the toad is 1 axle and the trailer is 2 axles. Your your toll will be on a 5 axle toll.

Thanks for the write-up. Didn't know these even existed.
