Your dealer wants to sell you a lot truck. You won't find a HD payload + Max tow on the lot. They just don't order them in like that. Well most dealers anyway.

If you want the truck to haul and haul heavy, skip the 20" bling wheels. It's a truck for heavens sake (tongue in cheek). I personally think my truck and it's stock wheels look fine, then again I don't really care, it was bought to be a truck.

Your dealer wants to move something he has in inventory and he did a fine job of getting you to try and justify it. Get a new dealer...

HEY!!! I take offense to the 20" bling wheels comment. There is nothing wrong with hauling heavy and looking DAMN GOOD while doing it!!!

Stick to your guns. You need HD payload for what you are hauling. Dealer wants to sell what's on their lot.

I've literally seen two HD payload trucks on a lot. They are very rare. Both I saw were special ordered that way.

Default Ordered My F150 With HD Payload

So, I ordered my F150 SuperCrew Ecoboost with the HD Payload / Max Tow combination today. Thanks for everyone's input.

I'm having a slight bit of doubt about my purchase, mainly about how it rides given that I haven't test driven a truck with the HD Payload package.

I drove a regularly outfitted truck at the dealership, and it was extremely smooth. My concern is that the HD Payload will drive differently and be noticeably more stiff than what I test drove. Thoughts?

Yes, it will ride stiffer than a standard f150. How much, I can't say. I wager its somewhere between a f250 and an f150. A lot of that is in the tires. The LT tires have very little give in the sidewall.

I've driven a HD payload when shopping. It rode a little stiffer but I wouldn't say rough. I wouldn't have been opposed to getting that on the truck I ordered but I don't really need it.

it will ride stiffer but it wont be that bad not like the 70s when 1/2 never would pull a 1000 LBS and if it did it would ride like a tank.

I just bought a 4X4 crew cab, 5 liter XLT with the heavy duty payload package, It rides great! I traded in my 2003 maxima se with low profile tire for this truck. I think it actually is smoother over all than my car was. Stiffer suspension but those low profile tires on the newer cars really give them a rough ride. Granted, it isn't as smooth as my F150 lariat was, But now it has a hell of lot more payload capacity!
I would say get it.

My HD Payload/Max Tow truck is my daily driver. It rides AMAZING. In fact it rides WAY more comfortable than my 08 XLT. Then again I usually have about 500 lbs of cargo in the bed which helps even it out.

No worries you'll love the new truck. You made a VERY wise decision to order it. You will not regret it.
