Talking Awesome towing ability

I have a 2013 xcab ecoboost w/ 3.55 gears. This weekend I made 3 trips hauling an overloaded dump trailer 7500 lbs. to be exact, and it did it with smiles on my face. I reset the mpg before the tow just to see on a hilly 20 mile trip to the dump site and the worst it did was 14.8 mpg. Amazing to me.

I smile every time too when i hook up our 7500lb travel trailer. I have gotten a best of 10.6mpg and I'm happy with that. Keep in mind I'm pulling a 10.5' high brick through the wind.

I get 11 mpg average towing a 5,500 RV trailer at 60 mph. Sure love that low rpm torque.

I have a smile on my face every time I hook up my 7600# 32-ft travel trailer and yank it up steep grades with the cruise set at 60mph while passing Silverados and other late model Ford's in the process...

Sounds like you're getting about the same mileage while towing 7500lbs on hilly roads as some guys are averaging empty. That ones a keeper.

I turned in a very poor 32L/100Km yesterday driving into a 40 Km/H head wind and thru hilly terrain. I guess I could have driven slower but 110Kmh just seems like a good cruising speed. 28 foot trailer at 7600 pounds . I love the power thou

110+140=150km/hr effective speed, or 93 mph.

Ya, that would cut into the mileage. I'm not surprised at your 7.35 mpgUS.

The worst I've seen is 27.1L/100km or 8.7 mpgUS, and that too was against strong headwinds but only at 100km/hr (62 mph).

Don't forget the three stops along the high way to let the kids pee. I am sure having to go from 0 to merging on the highway can't help.
