Good Grief to many people have a campers
Well the Idaho state campgrounds opened for reservations this morning at 8:00, I logged in at 7:59 the web sight was already crashed it took me 5-10 minutes to get in and 75% of all the camp sights where already gone.
Had to settle for whatever I could get instead of what I wanted,
This getting to be a real problem trying to find anywhere to camp unless you just want to go out in the desert and sit on your *** in the dirt.
When are people going to figure out that if everyone and there brother has a camper there's not enough campgrounds to go around.

I figure I'll be able to buy our retirement home next summer for a nice discount also.

All summer long you couldn't buy a boat or camper around here. People needed something else to do since COVID. Only part I don't understand, I thought everyone was unemployed and broke during this pandemic, yet new home construction is spiking and people are spending money left and right?

Anyway, OP, time to wake up earlier and be waiting at the gate. People found other things to do besides getting lectured by millionaire ball dribblers and kickers in their off time. So be it.

With everything closed pretty much at least in my state and surrounding states, why not go camping? All the restaurants, bars and 1/2 the businesses have to be closed, so go camping. I've been off since March (over 10 months now) because my employer closed. So why not go camping?

Don't let it hit you in the feels, this is the world we live in now. 9/11 showed our best, Covid and the election showed our worst. People will regain their heads at some point. or they won't, and the rest of us will move on.
There are places that book 2+ years in advance. I tell co-workers that are nearing retirement and want to go on a grand tour of the west, start planning five years out. Take a few years to figure out what you want to see, and put together a list of website registration addresses and timelines. It's not like the old days where you just jumped in the car and headed out with a suitcase, a map, and your wits. Sucks to have to backtrack two hours to a Walmart because there are no open campgrounds and passes for the backlands reached their daily limit.
The wild lands you can just roll into and boondock are disappearing at a fast rate, and few know where they are located. It's frustrating to hear comments to do that as most that make the comments aren't willing to share as they don't want more people invading 'their' favorite spots.
