mine was passenger side and was the loudest while below the truck. another way to identify sound was the same as mine would be to use a stethoscope and on the exhaust manifold passenger side that is where it was very loud also.

Build date is 06/13 been dealing with this noise since I bought the truck with 43k on it, now has 85k.

11/04/2011- oblong cly # 6. 3yr/36k mile warranty got me a short block. Been well since!

I have a build date of 07/11 on my 2011 F150 5.0, over 72k miles, 2nd owner. Original engine. Registered my vin on
owner.ford.com today and my vin shows no recalls. My ear doesn’t hear any knocks, just the ticking. Do dealerships cover tsb’s?

TSBs (Technical Service Bulletins) are not recalls, They are recommended steps and procedures for repairing vehicles. A TSB is issued when there is a growing trend with an unanticipated problems, but does not warrant a recall.

A TSB may be used, referenced, when performing a recall and/or service performed for covered warranty or ESP (Extended Service Plan).

2013 F150 5.0L Knock
that sucks. Sounds like my 2001.
