Thanks to all for the replies (yes even the "it's a truck just drive it", I got a good laugh on that one but no thanks). Was off today so I stopped at a different dealer and described my issues and he said there was a PCM update due out in mid March that was supposed to correct the slack feeling in the driveline and it was a known concern that Ford engineers had been working on for some time. Further, he said he had a few trucks they service that were waiting on it with the same concern. Regards the creaking front suspension, he said they would look at that when I brought in for the PCM update. I am gonna let these guys (a different dealer) take a swing at it and see if they can do better. Again, thanks to all !!

Regarding the creaking. Back in 1971 I went to work in a garage with an old geezer as the owner. He trained me to do oil and lube jobs and then onto brakes and other minor repairs. One of the old tricks he showed me was to squirt all the rubber pieces in the suspension with brake fjuid. Dot 3. Sounds kind of weird but man does it take out the squeeks from the suspension.

If you have ever done brake jobs on a vehicle with drum brakes and rebuilt the brake cylinders then you would see how brand new the rubber seals look inside the cylinders even if they're decades old. The brake fluid keeps the rubber like new. And it stops the squeeking of the suspension parts. Hope this helps.

You need to just drive it. It is a pickup truck
When you have nothing else to say, you need to move onto another thread. This is a "forum".

Lost In Sync ... One of the old tricks he showed me was to squirt all the rubber pieces in the suspension with brake fjuid. Dot 3.
NOT a good idea ...
  • brake fluid if hydroscopic meaning that it will attract moisture.
  • lack of lubricity.
  • not thick enough to resist washout.
  • unless the rubber seals, bushings, boots, etc. are forumlated for brake fluid, it will rot/deteriorate the item(s).
Best idea to just silicone spray on EVERYTHING. I usually do this at every oil change.

BTW ... old school myself, but what worked in the '50s, '60s, '70s, etc. doesn't always play well with modern technology.

Your first issue is from the dust cover around your front shock rubbing against the coil spring. Mine did it on the front passenger side but went away. It was actually cracked and the dealer ordered a replacement but i never took it back to get fixed since the noise went away and there is nothing mechanically wrong with it. There was a thread about this but its been a while ago.

Secondly all trucks have slip yokes. All my previous trucks which were GM made had a clunk and I just accepted it as a characteristic of a truck. My current F150 does it only when I make a hard stop. It doesn't bother me because I know it is doing what it's supposed to do. You can regrease it but it'll eventually start doing it again once the grease breaks down again.

Default Mine too...

2010 fx2 5.4-have the same problem with mine. It has been driving mine crazy. I found via google that it is the slip yoke, one guy even posted a video of the vehicle in motion showing how it moves on acceleration and deceleration. There is a tsb out. Taking mine in Tuesday for fix. And the noise from the right front suspension happened to me too. They said something was loose and tightened it. Iy's starting again though. But I remember in the 80'2 my mom had a Pontiac that made the same noise under the same conditions, and it turned out it was a crack in the frame. Makes sense. Hope for the best

Default Slip Yoke

Turns out it was the slip yoke. There is a TSB on it. My truck was out of warranty, but the cost to repair at the dealer was onlt $91.00! Couldn't believe it. Thought I was gonna get raped on cost. Seems the factory is not lubing it sufficiently so the re grease it and replace the boot. Drives like new.

Yep, I got that TSB done 2 weeks ago and its sooo much better. No more clunk on acceleration and the downshifting is way bester. Supposedly new grease and a boot the dealer tells me.

I may be way off here on the squeek, but a member here had an issue similiar to yours. He found that just under the cowl at the bottom of the windshield is a piece of foam or something like it that was squeeking. Just a thought.
