Yah I'm no superman by no means or a pro driver but I have been driving in some of the worst conditions for 17 years now. I live in edmonton Alberta Canada so yah were under snow covered, icy roads for 9 months of the year.

I just wanted the ability to have some fun well out and about. I'm not going to be a lunatic on the highway or anything. I just feel that this system with cutting power and what not can in some ways be horrible. Try driving in 2 wheel in the snow with traction control on its an accident waiting to happen. If a tuner can get rid of this for track use then so be it ill go that way.

I can honestly say I am still here today because of these systems. I was driving my wife's old car, Genesis Coupe 3.8, to Dallas for a meeting on cruise doing 80 mph, which is the speed limit here on I-130 for those that are not from Texas. I was in the right lane and about to get into the left lane to pass a car. All of the sudden the back end of the car hit something slick and made the car fish tail. The car almost went completely sideways as I turned toward the way the back end of the car was going to correct myself and then suddenly car slowed down and straightened out. At first I thought I got out of it because of my previous driving experience and great driving ability, but the more I started to think about what had happened the more I remembered that I did not hit the brakes yet the car did apply them. It happen so fast that I did not have time to react and apply any brakes which is something you do not want to do on all four corners in that situation anyways. When I got to my motel room in Dallas, I did a little research and found out that it was not me or my superb driving that saved my life but ESC and RSC. There was no way in the world I would have not rolled that car without it and this was on a very well handling sports car. Just think of how much easier a top heavy truck can flip.

The Genesis also had a button that let you completely turn ALL traction control off. I have turned it off a few times and learned how much the ESC and RSC help the car in it's handling. There is a big difference and I found out real quick that some of the corning I was able to do with it on was not because of my driving skills. I was able to adjust with it off, but just took more work to keep it where I wanted it to go on fast turns without the back end coming loose. The system makes you think you are a great driver until it is off and you find out how much of that was the ESC and how little was your ability.

I have felt the system work on evasive maneuvers on my truck as well, like quick lane changes. It is hard to feel but you can if you know what to feel for. Most of the time you will never even notice it kicks in. I can bet you that your system has kicked in in your truck if you have made any quick maneuvers, but just didn't feel or notice it.

I am not trying to say anything bad about your driving ability, but you or anyone else(well maybe Earnhardt Sr.) would not have been fast enough to react in the situation I was in. Worst off, I did not have the ability to apply brakes to just one wheel as needed even if I could react in time. I understand you feel the way you do that you want to be in control of everything, but most people may not be as good as a driver as you are or have the ability to react like Superman. Although, does that also mean you are against ABS as well? Just curious.
