Thanks for the reply.

I haven't run my truck at the track so I don't have times. I have a big *** crew cab, long bed, 4wd with a 210 pound fiberglass topper so I'm going to be middle of pack.

Sorry, I forgot to mention mods. Downpipes, Wagner intercooler, and 170 degree thermostat. Also have a catch can but doesn't have anything to do with performance.

I've chalked this up to the Ford PCM and transmission control module simply not processing the input fast enough. Like they're resource limited. Analogy a first gen Pentium compared to a current gen quad core i7 processor.

The OEM transmission and decision making was horrible, 5 star was mediocre. MPT did get a significant improvement, though there's likely a hardware limitation that can't be overcome with our PCM.

MPT's selection of gears with speed and throttle input is certainly better than Ford's which seemed to only start assessing what to do until after you press the throttle, then over 1.5 seconds it would ponder and finally make the gear selecting needed. MPT's seems to do a better job of predicting, or at least being in the right gear at the right speed, with X% of command from the throttle.

"Smoothing" is what you are referring to. The ability to command optimum performance at any throttle angle. No hunting for gears, linear power delivery, etc...

I would highly recommend trying an SSI tune.

Having said that, nothing wrong with a tune, except that I like my 7-year ESP / FMPP
Yes he did! It takes a lot of difference in power to pull even a car length on someone at highway speeds not to mention trying to blow their doors off.
