Default Thinking of going from ecoboost to a 5.0

When I trade my truck in I'm going to be giving the 5.0 a hard consideration. Anyone gone from the ecoboost to a 5.0, and what are your thoughts? I will be towing around a 8k lb travel trailer so I'll be getting the max tow. I've enjoyed my ecoboost just might be interested in something different next truck.

The 5.0 is a really nice motor but it is not going to come anywhere close to being able to tow like the Eco. I really think you'll be very disappointed.

I have both. Personal is a 2014 3.5 and my work truck is a 2015 5.0. I prefer my ecoboost. The 15 seems sluggish compared to it. And that's because I baby the 3.5 in daily driving. I'm hard on the 5.0. No contest, ecoboost wins.

From a guy who went from a 2011 3.5EB, to a 2013 5.0, and now back to a 2015 3.5EB, Don't do the trade. I didn't like the power of the 5.0 versus the Ecoboost. Felt a little bit like I went back in time.

Thanks guys for the input, guess I'll have to test drive both extensively when I trade her in.
I also have a feeling I'd really miss that low end torque of the ecoboost.

So, how is that not true?

An Eco will tow better than a 5.0 all day. I have towed with both.

I would have to agree about the power statements above but if you care about exhaust the EB is absolute crap compared to the 5.0 with aftermarket exhaust. But I will tell you with personal experience that an EB with jus a $400 tune is as fast or faster than my full Bolton 5.0. But the sound is what gets me. Wow. I don't tow much except for a jet ski. lol so if you are towing and want the max amount of power go EB but if your like me than go 5.0. The EB is an amazing truck - Just not for me. I hope I helped a bit and didn't offend anyone - not my intention.

Actually, a $100 tune will do just as good.

And of course it doesn't sound like a V8, its a 6. Nice, quiet, and fast.
