Can you guys offer some insight into how you were able to get a resolution?

Any help it greatly appreciated.

I have the light ticking and well.....I just have gotten used to it. I've never felt like it was a huge problem because I've heard engines sound much worse, yes new ones too. I love much truck and love driving my truck and the only thing that bothers me sometimes is the shudder feeling the transmission makes sometimes. I think your dealer is right, quit worrying and enjoy driving your truck. You have plenty of time left on your warranty. If a problem later occurs because of the noise, even after the warranty is up, you have the paperwork to prove that you brought your truck in for the problem during warranty.

Well, mine now has 1,700 miles on it. The knocking is getting louder. IT IS NOT A TICK. It is a clear knocking sound from bottom end of engine. At 1,400 miles I had it to the dealer to get it checked out. They called Ford engineering, they said it is normal. BS!!! How come some 5.0's dont have the sound? After spending $40k on a new truck, am I not entitled to have a engine without knocking sound?? I can not wait for this engine to blow up. Ford if your reading this, please help!!!!!!!! I now hope this engine blows up. If it blows up, I will bring story to local Philly news station. They would love to air this issue on their consumer watch segment.

I hear what you're saying but when you spend this kind of money on anything, you expect it to be perfect. And when it's not, you expect to be able to have your voice heard! I understand that there are factors that must occur in order for the problem to be fixed. I can be patient, but I do not expect to be told to "drive your truck til it gets louder, you have plenty of warranty left". Thats a ridiculous request IMO! U realize that this is why the manufacturer gives a warranty, but my expectation is they will address the issue to the best of their ability not give me lip service or excuses for why they can't fix it!

The truck has not been fixed to date and I'm currently documenting every instance that the problem occurs to try and pattern the incidents! His has not resulted in any pattern at all.

I guess the reason why I said what i said is because my previous truck, an 08 silverado LTZ, $44K truck, knocked like hell when I would crank it cold. It would do it for 10 or so min. This problem is one of the main reasons why I got rid of the truck but when I traded it in at 80K miles, it still was running strong. I have read in many other chevy forums how chevy says its normal and people of had their trucks for over 150K miles and still no problems. I can understand your frustration because I have dealt with it before. My ford truck has the light tick but is in no way compareable to what my old chevy sounded like. So right now I might casually mention it to my dealer one day when I am getting the truck serviced to see what they say but I am not worried about it too much because it isn't loud. Sounds like your noise is different from mine because if I mine was knocking, I would be up at the dealership asap like you.
