That is 5 in 9 years. Think the low that day was 50 and the high was 75. The wind was blowing from the west as I recall about 10 mph. That would hurt me going, help me coming home (for the most part.) I believe I could get better mileage driving 55 mph on the interstate, if I could avoid getting run over. Alas, I have no desire to drive 55 on the interstate. none. I was content with my 5.4 liter gas mileage running 75-80 mph on the interstate.

I do think I could get my Instant MPG to read 24 mpg going down a hill after a reset, too. Thanks for defending the Ford emblem, but, I am ford guy, and I am telling you my mileage sucks in this ecoboost. FYI, I am now over a 1000 miles...getting better but still sucks compared to my 5.4 liter that wasn't exactly a "green" eco engine
I don't know why you guys call out the guys that get roughly 24 ish... It's immature I went 400 kms all the time flat land In the praries Manitoba #1 highway went 100km hr (60mph) getting 24-25 and he'll that's with fx4 3:73 and same highway same speed I'm getting 19 with my 35s I am as happy as can be more power then the v8s and better mileage haha maybe quit flooring your trucks guys... Think HYPERMILE HYPERMILE!!!!

Driving habits...as they get better, mileage gets better. There is no break in= better mileage crap. Mine was getting 13sh and as driving habits got better, so did mileage. With my wife driving it, were seeing 23 mpg why.

My inlaws have 2004 crew with 5.4. They only dream of the mileage i get in my eco. Same rear 3.73. And they are senior citizens.

I don't drive 55 on the interstate either, just stating if you want decent mileage you have to keep it below 65 mph. When I drive 80 I'm lucky to be at 16-17 mpg. Soon as it gets real cold here with winter gasoline, probably more like 15-16 mpg at 80 mph. These trucks do not like high speeds, all there is to it.

You're not that far off my numbers and I'm sure you'll be right around there with a few more miles on it. I would have liked if my truck got a little better mpg at higher speeds too, but I know if I keep it between 55-65 mph it will get 20-24 mpg. Nothing wrong with the trucks, high speeds just cause it to use more gas.

The one constant in the past five ford trucks I have had have been the driver...me. I don't think all ecoboost are equal. Some good, some not so good. On the flip side, good power and towing!

I have had an 04, 06, 08, 10, and now a 13. Waited for them to get the "bugs" out of ecoboost. Same truck everytime. Hopefully it will "loosen up"

If I set my cruise at around 62-65 ill get 16-17.5 tops, if I use my foot and consciously allow a 10mph or so swing on hills it jumps to 23-24 over a 100+ mile trip never above 70.

So, theoretically its possible, but you'll be the jerk going 50 up the hill and 65 down it.

Idk about you guys, but I hate those drivers. If I'm not hauling anything, I prefer consistency over economy. I'm not going to be that guy with 6 cars behind them because we're too worried about keeping the green bar above the white one.

In real world, non ******* style driving, 20's aren't a realistic number for most of us. If you live in the middle of nowhere and it's completely flat for hundreds of miles around, sure it's possible, but that's a very rare case.

Just drive it...if unhappy, then sell it and get a prius. Very simple solutions.

Gotta go all out if you're getting a prius. Baby-poop green with that stupid matte black leaf decal on the hood.

Gotta watch out tho, they put stickum on the gas pedals. If the gas stick DO NOT put it in neutral, or apply the brake, it doesn't work (according to victims).

... Seriously, who is that dumb? It won't shift into neutral? Find a guard rail and ride it out like in Forza, works every time ;-)
