102,000 miles on mine, runs like a charm. Recently threw a 5-Star 91 perf/tow tune on it, and wow is it better to drive. A little worried that one of these days it's gonna blow up on me, but I'm crossing my fingers that this little engine's legendary reliability won't let me down. Tune bumped my MPGs up from 17 to about 19 too, so win-win.

The way I see it, guys did up the 4.6 2 valve and 3 valve engines in Fords, and GM guys would trick out trucks with the 4.8. So really, why not make the truck the way you want it.
I am tempted to try the 91 tow/perf tune now as I have been running 87 tow/perf and dont mind the truck one bit, and mine is loaded for work.

I've had my used all stock 2012 reg cab 3.7 STX with 62k mikes for 2 months now. The mpg for the last 1310 miles was 21.7 as the computer calculated, 22.04 by my calculations.
1100 of the 1310 miles was a road trip much of which was 70-75 mph.
Pretty happy so far.

Horrible mpg 3.7 2012 stx 4x4
I just bought a 2012 f150 stx 4x4 3.7l non turbo yesterday. Today reset mpg while on the hwy. I drove 40 miles to pick up my daughter all hwy average speed of 70. My average mpg was only 14.6mpg. That is horrible when should be around 23. Any ideas why I'm getting such low mpg? It also seems like on a slight incline it has to jump into passing gear to maintain speed. I have to keep pushing into the gas to maintain my speed.

Are you running in tow/haul mode ?
Are you running all 6 tranny gears or manual to a lower gear?

I'm running stock tire, not in tow/haul and it could be possible it had some e85 in it but it was only a quarter tank. I'm pretty sure i have ran out what it had in there. I put 50 bucks in regular unleaded yesterday. The place i bougjt it put new plugs but did not replace boots.

Hmm, idk it could of had e85 in it but not much. It had less then a quarter tank and I'm pretty sure i used all of that. I ran it down to about 50miles to e and then i put 50 bucks in regular unleaded in it. It has 111k on it and still had original plugs and boots. The dealer changed the plugs but not the boots. I told the salesman it needed a tume up, plugs and boots. They took to there mechanic and told him plugs and wires. It obviously doesn't have wires so they didn't do the boots. Idiots lol
