BBB is useless. They have NO authority on anything. They simply will document the issue in their files, and mark whether the case was taken care of.

And its amazing how numerous crap companies (not referring to Ford), get an A+ with 2,000 negative complaints. All matters on how much the company pays the BBB to get the rating.

Default I love my truck but I think its reached its lemon time

I have had nothing but problems with my truck from the first week I owned it. I think mine came with an electrical ghost that likes to screw with my truck monthly. Week one the back up camera quit working, and the ford emblem fell off the front. Month three 2 of my tires started leaking, the dealer could not find any leaks and put them back on, to continue leaking, second attempt they could not find any leaks. Bought new tires from a tire shop and had them put on never leaked again. Month 6 sync system froze up, they fixed it, the next day it said my maps were out of date, so fix two. Then we had a few good months until winter came around. November began they problems again. One day I was driving threw a level field in four wheel drive hunting, when i left the field i put it back in two and it stayed in 4 wheel, i shut it off restarted it, put it back in 4 out of 4, in neutral in 4 out of 4, in four low out of four low, still stuck in 4. About 45 minutes later on the highway it made a loud metal noise and came back into 2 wheel drive. Ford replaced some electrical something at the hubs. A couple weeks later when in four wheel drive at a dead stop with my foot all the way down on the brake the rear tires would continue spinning, for over 3 minutes until i put it in park, thought it was strange but ford told me over the phone its how the new four wheel drive works.. A week after this my Sync system froze up on the highway and none of the buttons would work, being -9 I was a little angry when my heat shut off. I had to exit the highway find a gas station that was open and shut the truck off to reset it. A couple weeks later I was pulling out of my garage gave it a little gas to go over a snow pack in front of the door and then stepped on the brake but the pedal was rock hard and the truck continued to drive all the way into the street making the abs / traction control noises with the service 4wd light on. I went to ford, they could not find anything wrong with it, and said shutting it off probably erased the error codes and not to shut it off next time but to drive directly there, sounds to me like complete bs at this point. A month after this I was in my driveway which was snowy, in 4wd, i stopped completely while waiting for my garage door to open, the brake pedal got rock solid and the rear wheels started turning and spun the back end into a tree. Ford sent out an engineer who couldn't find anything, and they refused to pay for the damage despite the 4 wheel drive fail light that came on at the same moment. They say this would never happen there are to many safety systems. When the engineer came winter was over there was no snow or icy areas to test the truck on. Now last month I started it and it made a loud knocking noise, by the time i got the hood open the noise was gone. I went to pull onto the highway from a dead stop at a stop sign to 65 mph. I gave it gas and the pedal didnt do anything, i pushed it to the floor, and it barely increased speed, a semi was coming so I swerved into the ditch, playing with the gas pedal after about 30 seconds out of nowhere it was back to normal ecoboost power and launched me out of the ditch almost in front of a car on the highway. I drove right to ford, without shutting it off, they first told me it was a vacume pump but hahah the 2013's do not have them, then he said if i didnt get any check engine r warning lights there wont be codes, this was on a friday when they were trying to leave, but still open for 2 hours. He found a mechanic to hook up the computer and there were a bunch of codes including some camshaft errors. At this point the truck was running perfect again. So the first appointment they had with rental cars available was in 2 weeks, he said it would be 4-6 days they would have to tear it apart take pictures have ford approve it then put it back together. A week later the problem comes back and the engine light comes on. I called 6 dealerships to try and get it done earlier but they are all booked at least two weeks out. At this point the problem is off and on. This week i started it and it was making a knocking noise and the engine light came on again so I shut it off. I checked the dipstick and it had chunky charred oil on it. I put another quart in just in case it was low but because of the chunks i couldnt tell where the oil was. I figured they could find out after the fix it. I called the dealer back to see if I could bring it in early, and found out they were only out of the rental cars they have but they can use enterprise to get me one, why was this not an option before??? So they call all kinds of enterprises trying to get me something bigger than a focus, find a escape at one. I go to pick my brother up so we can go get the rental and drop the truck off at ford. When I left home it was running perfect again, got on the highway and it started flashing all kinds of different warning lights, door ajar, battery low, seat belt, low oil, and the engine died, on the highway, but it didnt make a noise, or vibration, no burning smell nothing. I coasted into a parking lot and tried to start it, it just makes a click noise. Had it towed to ford on Thursday, someone was supposed to call me back friday and didnt, called today but only there fast lane is open despite the website saying service is open.

Now after 9 months of these problems at what point do I call it quits and say its a lemon. I love the truck, its a king ranch, i payed a lot and expected a lot of it. But, when It is in the shop every month and they never seem to be able to find the issue it gets a little old. At some point here its going to have an issue a split second earlier or later and I will get creamed.

My dealer had my new 2013 Platinum for 52 days for a engine replacement , state lemon law here says no longer than 30 days if less than 12 months old and less than 12 K miles, it was 6 months old and 5400 miles, talk about being upset. I haven't contacted Ford yet, I'm trying to calm down, its my 2nd ecoboost f150, Spent $90,000.00 for both trucks total, I also love my Platinum , It will be interesting on how Ford treats the OP

There are attorneys who specialize in the lemon law stuff. I'd highly recommend one of them because they are able to specialize in the trade. I used one in the past and was very satisfied with the results.

Other than the PCV system related issues, these trucks are tuff as heck and with the shudder/misfire/accumulation of gunk in the CAC so easy to fix on your own, I can't see lemon Law'ing any of these unless you have other issues that can't be fixed by Ford (The PCV system can only be properly addressed by modifying it properly...and that eliminates all the related issues).
