Yes, on the front of the oil pan. If memory serves me right, I think I used a 4x4. I remember being really picky about how I lifted it because I didn't want to crush the pan.

Thinking about getting headers myself, I know stainless doesn't need to be coated as it doesn't really rust, but is there any specific reason you got yours coated mechanicboy? I know coating will reduce underhood temps, and since you were going FI you were probably trying to keep IAT's down and reduce heatsoak; is it necessary to coat them on a NA engine? Nothing there to get damaged or fried? I'm mostly concerned with overheating and ruining the starter. Thanks!

Heat was the reason. It also has the unintended benefit of hiding the headers from those you don't want to see them. I don't believe coating is necessary, but it doesn't hurt.

I'm going to be putting a 1" body lift into my wife's '12 5.0, would that help with some of the tight spaces for the install?

The body is not the issue for clearance. I just did my headers this weekend and everything that gets in the way is chassis related, not body. I will suggest getting a few swivels for your ratchets and ratchet end wrenches will be your friend as well. If possible I would suggest finding a friend with small hands and arms as well.

Wouldn't hurt, but Alex is correct that most of the tight space problems are chassis related.

Did you just remove the passenger side engine mounting bolts or you did the same with the driver's side?
