I'll tell what works excellent, I've had all different tunes before . And don't want to tune my 14 limited . But I do miss the quickness of previous tunes on previous ecoboost trucks . I now have a JMS pedal max with adjustable **** and I love it. No delay in throttle

they drove my truck and said it runs fine, they ran a scan and said everything is within specs. They said they can not change a/f ratios etc. recommended I look at an aftermarket tuner.

I was happy with the 2013 until now. The difference is big. The throttle response is so much better on the 2011. Its not just taking off from a dead stop but all speeds. Im taking the 2011 in to have tranny fluid changed and I will talk to service guys but Im not optimistic. There is some turbo lag on the 2011 but the 2013 is worse. The 2011 actually feels like a much bigger engine 0-70mph. The 2011 is actually fun to drive. I can not figure out why it would have such a difference in throttle response. Ill let you know what I find out
I had the same experience and I can equate it to a couple of different things...

perf wise, based on stats, they are similar, but how its delivered I reckon is mostly due to the transmission and torque management.

The MY13+ changed the BOV and added larger 50mm turbos, but I think the biggest difference is shift points and how much easier it is to unlock the torque convertor.

I found that in the MY2011/12 that it was easy to leave 11's around where the 2013+ does not and that when putting the pedal down, you see the bump in rev's more as the torque converter unlocks.

My friend's complaint with his 2011, is that in the winter, the power is hard to put down on snow/ice... but performance wise, it seems to lurch faster than mine

You need the 1/16" intercooler weep hole. Do that, and new plugs will solve this recurring ecoboost epidemic.

Reset your transmission by removing the battery cables and touching them together. Might be because of the trans learning your driving habits.

I also recommend the weep hole along with motocraft plugs gapped at .030.

All good recommendations but it's in the factory tuning. Boost comes on slower in the newer ones to limit sudden big gulps of moisture. You need an aftermarket tune to get that quick spool back.

Definitely need the weep hole with that tuning then.

I feel like I'm having to abuse the thing to get it going, the constant hesitation to jerking acceleration cannot be good on the driveline. Stop and go traffic makes this thing feel like a real dog and I'm sick of it. Every one of the previous 50 vehicles I've owned has had an RPM or acceleration feel to it immediately when pushing the pedal.
This is so frustrating. There is at least a 1/2 to 3/4 second delay when pressing the gas at any speed before there is an engine response, then sure it snaps to life but that's not the way it should be. My 1980 turbo trans am had better manners than this thing.
It responds nothing like the 5 other 2011 5.0's my work partners drive, I've tried them, not even close, I've tried a couple other EBs and there all the same.
I think the issue you are complaining about has something to do with the throttle by wire. Numerous times I've had this problem and it's not turbo lag. It's something electronic. Tried relearning the gas pedal and it helped a little, but it didn't last long.

Yep I've had that issue before too. Not turbo lag though. Drive by wire system. Tuning it pretty much took care of it with a custom tune...sct tune still does it sometimes
