Ecoboost = 2nd Coming of christ?

EB>second coming of Christ.
It is very amusing to watch a few people chime in when it is not warranted and call out people who are talking the EB up in various threads. Not sure why that is, or why it would even get under one's skin. Is it frustration because no one speaks as highly or as often about the new 5.0 (which is a great engine btw)? Or a lack of a sense of humor perhaps? Because I've sensed some kidding around when someone talks up the EB, and then it gets some feathers ruffled because comments are taken too seriously.
Conversely it is also disappointing to come to an F150 forum and witness such dissent within the community. This should be a brotherhood where we stick together and have each others backs. Instead it's flaming and bickering when we all drive basically the same truck, even the transmissions are exactly the same. Coming from a different Ford forum in a 7.3 PSD forum we consider ourselves all brothers. Then again in the superduty forum there is always arguing about the 7.3 vs 6.0 vs. 6.4 so I guess it's bound to happen here too.

Speaking of taking things too seriously.......
Guys, we drive the same (sorta) kind of truck. That doesn't mean we're brothers. It means we went to the same brand dealership.
The EB is being marketed and commented on like it's the uber-engine.
It's an internal combustion engine, nothing more.

The consistency I see on these posts so far is they are usually started by someone who does not have an Ecoboost trying to start a war. Then it seems the 5.0 guys chime in with the ruffled feathers because they think the Ecoboost guys have the better than thou attitude and seem to be jealous because the Ecoboost is getting all of the attention.
The Ecoboost guys are not acting like they have the 2nd Coming of Christ. They usually just respond to the other side that starts throwing the first jab. Keep in mind I don't mind the discussion there are good points made by both sides but only when facts and good information is exchange and not when emotion and name calling and such gets introduced. Then readers have to read many postings with babble and nothing actually informative being said. But I suppose the war that ensues is what was intended all along.

There deffenitely is a BE point, but I think based on your first post it will be closer to 50,000 miles. For me that will be about the time that I trade in to the next great things ford comes out with. And now I do a good bit of towing where the 5.0 spanks the eb (in mpg not necessarily performance), so for me it would be alot longer for BE point

This 5.0 vs EB is a complete waste of time. Buy whatever truck you want, and f**k what others think. How about that

The only known fact is that the ecoboost has more power.
The eco was supposed to get 1 mpg better according to EPA, it gets worse. Ford engineer said the ecoboost would be more efficient - so far it ain't happening.
also don't see anybody with eco's getting a consistent 20+ on the highway.
i like mine a lot, tows like a sob but mpg ain't as advertised.

Awesome little motor. Glad that Ford had the (*****) to step out of bounds and offer it. GM will of course wait till they loose some market share to try and combat it. I own a 6.2 but really like the EB when test driving.
