Torque and the 5.0
Not too bad for a Mustang engine in a truck. Not quite enough low end torque for me but really turn's on at 4k rpms and above. Great fuel mileage if you keep speed's at or below 70 mph. At 2k miles I did have an O2 sensor problem and they had to change 4 injectors to get it corrected, no problem's since. Engine now has close to 25k miles on it. Do wish I had the 3.73 gear's to get rolling quicker with the heavy tires.

I love my 5.0L!
To me it's got ample power all around. I don't think it lacks at all in the low RPMS...I recently drove my friends 2010 F-150 Lariat SCREW with the 5.4L and honestly I beleive that my 5.0L had a stronger seat of the pants feel in the lower RPMS, granted his truck has 3.55 gears I beleive, to my trucks 3.73's, but none the less the 5.0L felt far superior to the 5.4L in my driving experience.
It won't tow like a diesel, but as far as small block natrually aspirated gas V8's go, its amongst the best. I've only actually towed once with my truck, which was a trailer roughly 3,000lbs with my sisters late 1980's Toyota Celica on it, so roughly 6,000lbs of weight towed for about 15 miles, but I can say that it pulled that flawlessly, couldn't have asked for a better tow.

I love my 5.0. Great mileage and power. It won't tow like an ecoboost but if you let it climb the rpm band it will pull with great enthusiasm. Its an awesome all around engine, no regrets at all! There's also TONS of aftermarket support for them if you want more power and sound

Project: Big Red
I got my 2012 Ford F-150 Lariat SuperCrew back on 9/1 of this year and I have not once wished that I got another truck. I love the truck and the 5.0 sounds great and it rides smooth as well!
I did level the front with the Rancho Loaded QuickLift that include the RS9000XL shocks, but also added them in the back. So the ride from the factory to now is a big day to night difference in my opinion and the gears I have are the 3.31. I have the tow package, but I don't ever see myself towing anything at all and if I do it wouldn't be a long distance anyway.
I recently put the SCT iTSX tuner on the truck with custom tunes done by Mike at 5 Star Tuning and it's helped out a lot! I went from getting about 14 to 15 around town to now 17.5 to 18.2 and on the highway I get about 19 to 19.5 give or take cause I live down south here in Texas and it isn't flat land.
I go up and down hills a lot and most places I drive to out of town are the same type of setting as well.
I recently just turned over 5,000 on my truck and haven't had any issues with the engine. Only problem I had was with the sliding rear window and 3rd brake light, but those have since been fixed without a problem!
If I were you or at least in your situation, I would buy the truck if it is at a good price. I love mine and wouldn't trade it for anything at this point!

One Bad MoFoMoCo Owner
Got mine in June, and way to many problems to list.
It has too much power. Way to easy to outrun Dodge, Chevy, Nissan trucks, etc.
Doesn't ride like a truck. Way to comfortable.
The exhaust is confusing. No noise when driving down the road, then you floor it, and it growls, causing you too floor it often to hear it.
The mileage is too good. It's making my wallet too heavy keeping all that extra cash in it instead of giving it too the gas station. I mean, who would make a SCrew 4x4 that gets 17mpg city, and even better on the hwy! I mean, of all the nerve.
Plus, I am tired of other staring at me and my truck going down the road, because it is just so good looking.
Then there's the fact that it handles to well offroad. You just can't get this truck stuck at the beach, and it handles mud too well. There is just no challenge while offroading.
I should have bought a Chevy or Dodge, then I wouldn't have all these problems!
