my 2012 5.0 work truck does it all the time when the truck is first started, once warmed up, no problems

Could be possible, but I'm not totally convinced. It doesn't do it in the mornings. Only after I've driven the truck then let it sit for a spell. The cats should be warm enough at that point. My dealer is two blocks from my work, so it isn't that big of a deal to let them have a look. Besides, I want to point out a few other things.
I am out of state for about 7 weeks and wont have a chance to get it looked at until after that. Please post what you find out if you decide to take it in! Thanks

I've seen retarded spark advance as well as cam timing causing a surge like you are describing.

My FX2 on 18's does it too for the first minute or so with light throttle on warm start. It acts like I'm tapping on the throttle about 3 or 4 times per second when I'm holding it steady, smooth if I let off and jumpy again if I lightly reapply the throttle, gone if I tromp on it.

Mine does it too but after reading this I have accepted it as normal rather than spend costly hours at the dealer to tell me the same thing, that is if they ever figure it out on there own.
I found this to be the case with mine.I observed-9 deg. at startup and cold running.Pretty lame and ford has no fix.Hot starts the timing is normal advance.

I thought they would reprogram the truck so the timing wasn't so retarded on startup? My truck does the bucking when it's cold and pull away slowly, like in a parking lot. Also does it almost every morning when it's cold outside and I'm slowly pulling out of my driveway.

I know it's going to happen so it isn't unexpected, I know what causes the bucking, and I know it isn't doing any damage to my truck. It also goes away almost instantly and can be negated with my right foot if I want. Sooo I'm not really worried about it.

Mine does this also, only on semi-cold startups were its been sitting for 30minutes - 2 hours. Never had it happen on COLD startup. I've noticed that if I wait 30 seconds or so after starting it and let the Idle settle down it won't do it. I want to bring it up with the dealer BUT it's a 1 in 10 thing for me and very hard to replicate. Any of you guys gotten a tuner? Did it get rid of this issue (if it IS a cool start timing issue)?

Your truck sounds like mine.YES a tuner can fix it.After all the CUSTOM tuning I went through building my Powerstroke,I don't want to mess with tuning.Tuning is in it's infancy with the new 5.0 coyotes.I don't want to be a beta tester for the "Tuners"...nor do I want to void my warrenty.
