Yes it is out of warranty. I just ordered a new BK6500 borescope from my Snap-On dealer. I'll use it for other things I'm sure. Don't like buying cheap *****-made crap. I'll wind up needing it again for something & it will be a POS. On another note, I have another question for anybody that can answer it. Sounds goofy to me but here goes... I was at the dealer this past weekend on other business & this particular dealer's service dept. stays open for a half day on Sats. I asked the service writer on duty what he thought of my problem & he said that he has seen before where it could be a leaking fuel injector. What???? Never heard of such a thing. He wasn't real clear on this so this is what made me suspicious but I asked him how this could be whether it created a hot spot of sorts when the engine was cranked back up or if it knocked a hole in the piston from hydraulic locking. He was somewhat evasive about it but I reckon stranger things have happened. Anybody ever heard of this being the cause?? I find it hard to believe that this could happen being that gas is supposed to be in the cylinder to begin with although not in large quantities. ??????

A leaky injector could fill the cylinder with fuel while sitting. Crank it up, and the fuel can't compress and hydraulics the cylinder. You can't compress a liquid. Usually will bend a rod.

First of the issue I've heard. But anything is possible.

I think what he (the service guy) is getting at is the extra fuel washing the cylinder and rings on that cylinder and it wearing out from lack of lubrication. For an injector to leak so much that you bend a rod or crack a piston is highly unlikely. For that to happen, one would need a small hose going to that cylinder. Not saying it's impossible... Just highly unlikely.
Myself, I'm gonna put my bets on a hard part failure. I'm thinking a valve or cracked piston.

This would be a great time for a coyote crate engine.... If finances allow.

i have a 2014 5.0 F150 motor with 34,200 miles for sale. #7 has about 20 less psi, but it may be cost effective to buy mine and build it with parts from yours

I had a 2014 with #4 down to 75psi with 98k miles. Scoped it and did not see anything. Figured it was a piston issue. Found a 20k motor for 1200 and put it in. Fixed it. Dealer told me there are issues with the 12-14 5.0.
Acted like an injector, but it was not an injector.
