Ok guys, need some help here I'm not hijacking this thread! But, I had some serious misfiring in the hwy on Saturday. Mostly around 3000 rpm. I've driven about 1000kms since my timing chain replacement. All was good until Saturday. I've had the CAC TSB done a while back as well. Drove again today and the misfire was still there. Even threw an engine light today as well. Cylinder 4 misfire. I pulled the plugs and found #4 has a cracked insulator. (Pictured below). Also #1 appears to have a buildup on the plug. Maybe Ash buildup? The plugs have 102000kms on them. I replaced them with Motorcraft SP-534 gapped at .030. Went it a drive and there is still a slight misfire feel to it. No codes yet though. What would cause the build up on number 1. All other plugs appear normal.
Also found foamy oil in the cap. Only 1000kms on oil change. Only a couple short drives. Most runs are at least 50km's over 1-1/2 hours.

The cap is fine but your plugs are carbon arced and ****, suprised you never had problems before now.
Monitor the new plugs for first few thousand km's pull em after and check them.
These take a few km's to settle down after a plug change.
Should also maybe check for bad coil's they dont often log a check engine light but do cause misfires.

The cap is fine? I'm surprised. It's not thick like white grease( I've seen that before!!) but I didn't think that was ok! I did have a bit of a rough idle at cold start. I'll drive it lightly for a couple days. If the misfire is still there I'll switch coils around to narrow that down. Thanks!
