Curious if you guys are keeping your tuner in the truck with you or just leaving it at home? I realize some may be using it for gauges, but if not, is it worth keeping inside my truck? In case anything comes up, as far as troubles?

Unless something broke down & you needed to reset to stock before it was towed to the shop

Just thought of this......
I haven't changed vehicles, but I did return my unit to stock for yearly Inspection
Does this count towards the 5 times limit before it locks ?
Seems like it should not since I am not using the Tuner on another vehicle?
I can't see any difference between returning to stock VS changing the Tune ?

You can only change vehicles 5 times before the unit is permanently locked.
To reset the Changes or Unlock the device you will need to contact SCT. Service charges do apply.

Hey guys, I just recently bought a SuperChip for my 2014 fx4 5.0. It's sitting in a 6" with 35s. I was wondering how to get the most out of the tuner. I would like a badass tune to get maximum performance out of my truck, but the closest option it came with was "87 octane performance" for my year and make. Can anyone give me some advice about chips and what I can do with it?

edge
I have a 2012 F-150 5.0 L and have a edge evo, and I can say that I'm not to pleased after having to call the customer service line and program it back to stock just so it runs right. Lots of options for different tunes but just not that happy with it.

I've run an Edge Evolution CTS on my Ecoboost for the past 2 years and have been happy with it with noticeable power gains. However, when I first installed it, my truck wouldn't start. Called Edge customer service who got my truck up and running after an update to the programmer. I've used an Edge programmer on a couple of my past 5.4L F-150's and noticed very little to no power gains. IMO, a programmer on a none-turbo gas engine is a waste of money. You'll notice more power gains from a performance exhaust system and air intake system then you will from a programmer.

2013 5.0 Flexfuel, custom tuned at ProTech Performance, after 4.5 hours on the Dyno I now have the shift points at "sweet" and that annoying cutoff at one hundred miles an hour is gone. Dynoed out at 140 MPH and on several occasions since then I've buried the speedometer at 120 and then it shifted into fifth, time to back off. Did like whytri98 said though, true dual exhaust from the cats back to two Dynomax mufflers and K&N cold air charger installed first, truck runs great!!!
