BTW guys, I see the OEM valance over $100 to $145 while Carparts.com & others are in the $60 range. Wonder if ya'll have strong opinions about going the cheaper route here.

I bought oem from tasca. Never saw any off brand valances but I personally would stick with oem but that's me.

Saw that as well but I'm leery about using reproduction parts on a new truck.

Found genuine Ford part here http://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts/...z-17626-b.html $115 shipped.

Thanks guys, the job is done. Opted to use existing valance, cutting the space out for the hook. Am pleased with the result but it wasn't easy, 2 fasteners are pretty well shrouded by steel boxes and I barely got a small 3/8ths on it enough to loosed, then turned it the rest of the way out using needle nose on the lower (thread) end of the screw. I did not put these back in due to difficulty factor and the fact that there are about 11 other screws to hold the valance in place. But I got the peace of mind knowing I can be pulled out of a ditch if need be.

Turned out they shipped a valance for a 2015 instead of 2014. I received the correct valance today along with a new set of front bumper pads. With the new valance, new chrome tow hooks and bumper pads I will be install everything within the next few days. I will have a stock OEM valance that I will be removing from my 2014 Limited if anyone is needing one.

Default Torque it down

New to this forum so I apologize if I'm speaking out of turn. My question is, what are the torque Specs for the front tow hook install? I swear to Buddha that it must be some Area 51 secret because I haven't been able to find it anywhere. I'm hoping to put them on this weekend but I want to torque it right. My guess is 35 ft/lb but I have found nothing to substantiate this number. Anyone know? I thought I'd find it on this thread but nada.

This task is also on my list. I was only able to find torque specs for newer models, said to be 59ft lbs. Imagine similar to that.

I'm riding a 2019 XLT I bought used. 59 ft/lbs sounds similar to something I read for older expeditions so I would hazard that this is about right. Guess I'll know when the bolt head blows off and I'm left cursing the sky.
