AVS Auto ventshade in-channel = AVOID 2016 F150
Well after trying to install a front and rear set of in channel vent shades on my 2016 F150 I am tossing in the towel. I have always used the external ones that mount on the painted body and never had any issues for years of use and Ohio weather. These internal ones I could not get a set installed without breaking a tab off and I never had a chance to close the window.
I did get three (3) installed. I carefully jogged the window up to make sure it closes / seats correctly. Two of the three windows would not close without going right back down. I am assuming its sensing excessive force or an obstruction. I did finally get them to all close and let them sit 24 hours before opening. I took the truck for a drive before opening and all three of the windows did not seal with the in channel vent shades in place.
I got a call while driving and could not hear over the wind noise. I ended up pulling into a parking lot and removed the three I had installed.
Its a great idea but does not work on my 2016 4X4.
I called the company initially when the one broke during install and after today's noisy ride I called back and left a message NOT to send me a replacement set. I left a message and requested an external ( body ) attached set over the internal ones.
These things are SUPER thin and brittle. I broke one removing it.The window clutch safety feature is annoying but doing its job. I did read on how to re-teach it but the exterior vent shades make a lot more sense to me at this point.
Not sure if its my truck of I just received a bad set but they are really, really thin and brittle so be careful if you are using them.

I bought the AVS that stick on the outside for my 16 F250.. They were crap! Didn't line up with the door frame at all. ripped all 4 off and took them back..
I wonder how the Weather Tech in channels are? They are like $100 though lol

I ordered the avs externals (low profile) for my 2015. Lots of people say they dont line up, however they actually do if you take the time to fit them on. It takes a little time to get the fronts fitted because you need to pull the mirror protector out a little to get it in and its a great fit. Just make sure you have it on where you want it because that 3m tape sticks fast and is a b!tch to get off if you need to re-position them.
