Building a 94 F150 Raptor. Looking for advice.
I have a long bed 94 f150 XLT 5.0 manual 5spd truck that is mostly stock that I plan to turn into a 94 ford raptor. My goal is to give it similar performance specifications (mainly suspension, engine performance, and appearance) as a modern raptor. The reason I am posting here is because I would love to get advice and recommendations on what I should do and look at over the next few years to complete this project.

Sounds like a pricey build for a 94 f150 XLT. Have you considered possibly getting a used raptor? Saving yourself the headaches.

the platforms are completely different - that doesn't mean you can't turn your truck into a prerunner.

I have looked into it johnny. My truck is in nearly perfect shape with only 123k miles on it and I'd like to stick with a manual transmission. I do realize it might be pretty unrealistic of a project. The biggest issue I'm running into is the suspension. I don't want to give it a huge unnecessary lift, but I am wanting to get a similar suspension feel and performance if possible. If it becomes to expensive I am not too dedicated to this project.

Check out some of the builds on www.dezertrangers.com "DR Rides" there are some awesome builds that are from "Mild" "Raptor like" to "Crazy" street and or race "Trophy Trucks" and everything in between.
If you have 4 wheel drive, you've got the twin traction beam as opposed to the Raptor and later F150 A-arm front suspension. There are lots of great kits and fabricators out there for your system and it can be more than tough enough for anything. Lots of fiberglass and other parts too. Depending what state you are in, you could get pretty crazy with the engine, or if like me, you're in CA limited to CARB approved bolt ons.
Have fun and ask lots of questions, its dumber not asking and screwing something up, than asking and learning, even if someone makes fun of you at first. Have fun, I had a '90 prerunner 5.0L for a long time and loved it.
