What did you do to your 10th gen today?

I've never had the front shaft out but the rubber/plastic part looks pretty stretched out to me but it's probably fine. I greased the rear slip yoke about 1k miles ago when I did the transfer case output seal so it should be fine. It definitely sounds like it's coming from up front to me. I'm gonna try to figure it out tomorrow.

Thanks man. I was actually thinking about using another piece of the steel I have and welding it to the hanger I just made and use the other factory hanger bushing I have just to make it stronger. It only had 3 on the factory muffler which was huge and one on the tail pipe so I'm thinking with 2 hanger bushings it will be strong enough because it's a lot lighter. You know more than I do though so if you think it needs more than 2 than I'll probably put a 3rd on it somewhere.
I thought of using the clamp just because I really hate welding under the truck expecially by the gas tank lol.
I cut all the factory hangers and bushings off my factory muffler so I've still got 3 left over

I imagine you still have the factory hanger damper at the Y and by the transmission correct ? That one is a different design (clamp design), the hanger is on the cross-over up there.
So yea, your already set up for a dual hanger using the factory bed set up. Makes it real easy converting your design into a dual hanger.
I did sort of the same thing, but I bent up round stock that wrapped the bottom of the pipe, then went on to form the hanger legs and hook on each side for the bushings. I didn't weld mine yet, wasn't sure that I liked it. I think I'm going to do the same as you with the clamp. It's easier to remove or adjust your way.
EDIT: Come to think of it, I might use just one piece of round stock with an arch to match the top of the muffler clamp arch. No what I mean ? That way I can weld the arch to the arch vs a post on each side. Mating the arches together would also create a V at the weld point. In turn, - more weld area and much stronger.

Two in that spot will probably work with that set up since you shortened the tail pipe.

And I really was in a hurry on mine and it just worked out good lol. Took maybe 15min start to finish so I'll probably make it a dual hanger and paint it to make it look a little better.
That idea seems pretty good to me. It sounds like you like taking care of stuff and doing it the right way
