spark plugs
I'm sure this has been discussed. I recently replaced all my plugs with champion plugs. I know a lot of you recommend only using Motorcraft. Have any of you had any problems using champion plugs? I just had the truck serviced yesterday at 94500 miles (at Ford Dealership). Ended up needing rotors and brakes, flushed the transmission and engine coolant, transfer case. Mechanic called and said my C1 cylinder was missing even though the check engine light wasn't on (5.4%), so i had him go ahead and do that too. I hope he wasn't shafting me for more money. I need that truck to last me a long time, so I went with what he said. What do ya'll think?

Have had a previous bad experience with Champions, so I avoid them.
Getting to the point where I have quit trying to outthink the engineers - if Motorcraft was good enough for them to send it off the production line with, figure they're good enough to continue with.

Have read several times that an engine miss is difficult for the ECM to detect. Having said, believe you are in good hands with the mechanic. Say what? Good hands? Wasn't that GM's moto? No, I'm going to correct myself, Good hands is Allstate, Mr. good wrench is GM. Its time for a beer.

I am new with Fords... About a week new BUT the I love the NKG plugs in my integra. I have 280,000 miles on it and I am using iridium plugs. I get 33 - 35 miles per gallon and I stop and go a lot.
I also put an iridium plug in a go-kart because they provide a blue spark BUT they only last about 5 minutes because the carb is bored out so much, that it ruins the plugs. The cheapest plugs are the only ones that work
Champions provide an orange spark while iridiums provide blue (hotter).
I also put iridiums in an Altama with a tuneup and it got much better gas mileage, but the new filters could have also helped the mileage.

I have a neighbor who used to do some work for me, and he refused to use anything but champion, I hate them personally. I use either autolite or motorcraft, depending if I can get motorcraft, or not.
