Mine are 2x5 main section with 2x2 legs running to the frame. Simple and works.

so after all my research I decided to go with a style like these

i like the dual purpose of it the rock slider to protect the rocker panel and the step for all the women and short people that ride in our trucks

I have a reg cab but wheel well to well would be great for reaching the things in the middle of my tool box without getting in the bed.

that was my idea and plus u don't just want protection for the can the bed needs protection too

I built mine mainly as steps as I am up pretty high already and they are removable if need be

Do you have pictures? And I agree they should be bolted on do u have it bolted right onto the frame or are you sandwiching the frame with two plates that bolts it all together?
