Good catch! Inspect the WHOLE board for cold solder joints, and surface-mount resistors making bad contact.

Ok. I checked & cleaned the sensor ( witch I am assuming is also for the heater control outside temp display that does work on the king ranch ). I reflowed all of the solder joints just to be sure, and it still does the same thing ( -40/ ice ). So for now I fixed it using my redneck ingenuity. A little electrical tape over the temperature display and fixed (for now). Ha ha

Thanks for the help everyone!

ibd2328, my unit doesn't work at all (quit just today) and there are no aparent bad solder joints. Is it possible it's tied to a fuse?

I bet your ambient temp sensor is off.

It doesn't always look apparent. Just hit them with a solder gun & just a little solder. You'll be back in business.

Thanks everyone I took a second look at the board and finally found a cracked solder joint. Got the solder gun out and 5 minutes later it's fixed.
This forum is great and everyone helps each other!

I have a king ranch with a temperature display on the heat & cool controls also, and that works. Is it the same sensor for that, or are there 2 separate sensors? I have not unplugged the one in the grill though.
