You could have a bad switch. I know on my 03 its timed once they come on. Try resetting the GEM. takes 15 minutes with the battery disconnected. It should work like normal except when in the auto setting.

okay so here's what happened, with the surfboard with sensor installed, all lights were on, signals and low beams, with nothing covering them, the settings did not change them too off, there did seem to be a clicking like a relay behind the radio area. I disconnected the sensor and all lights worked as they should. Confussed

Brain fart. Yes. Its is a sensitivity setting for the autolamps. The 97/98 is different. It has a dial on the headlight switch. I'll see if I can find the adjustment procedures for it.

You turn it clock wise to make them come on sooner. Meaning more sensitive to light changes. C.C.W is counter clockwise. I would just turn the screw till light go off then adjust them as it gets clocser to dusk. Be mindful of daylight savings time so your not having to remember to do it when the time changes.

Okay.. The board just slides right out. There appears to be 5 connectors on the board and only 4 in the harness, not sure what thats about. Still trying to adjust it so far if the board is in the headlights are on even when the switch is set to offf..

Update: checked with light, power to the harness is good the switch is working, hot and then off, its either this sensor bad or something
