Fix my '98 or move on ?
I have a '98 4.6 Ext Cab w/ 216K. Good truck until my son started running into things with it. Just cosmetic but annoying.
Anyway, chk eng light on for awhile. Tried lots of things to fix but no luck. Chk Eng. started BLINKING at me the other day so I fear a new converter is in store. I've already put at least $1200 into trying to fix and now looks like more.
Think I should fix or move on? I've been looking at a '96 w/121K. My '98 was running fine until this last problem. Is the engine in the '98 better enough that I should just fix it? Thanks.

What codes is it throwing, and which converter do you mean? '96 I think has a 302 (5.0) as standard. Just like the 4.6, it has its own set of inherent issues, and you may be chasing ghosts on that one too.
