Has anyone tried to rebuild one on the 04 5.4? I had mine replaced 2.5 yrs ago and now I'm having issues again. It doesn't do it all the time, but periodically I get an ABS light and my pump starts running with the truck shut off. I also get lights on the dash blinking off and on with the pump running...

I know I posted before but I have one laying around if someone can match the models up I will be more than willing to get rid of it for a decent price worked when I removed it.

Default Fixed ABS module

Thanks to KHSONIC03 for the info. I have a 2000 F150 4X4 5.4 with 220K miles

ABS pump started running continuosly as you defined

replaced the MOSFET $3.59 plus shipping

One note, when I took the heat sink off one thing I noticed was the back plate of the MOSFET was only half exposed to the heat sink

This allowed only partial heat removal I am sure this did not help

When I installed the new MOSFET I ensured the entire back was exposed and available to the heat sink

Notice only half of MOSFET back is exposed

Installed with entire back exposed available to the heat sink

Thanks for the help

Default Anyone willing to do this if I send them the unit??

Don't have time/skills needs to do this properly beyond removing from the truck.

I'd absolutely be willing to pay fair wage + materials to anyone who has done this successfully before.

I will check back in few days.
THANKS MUCH!!
GREAT FORUM!!

Hi Chris,

I am willing to take on the job for you. I'm currently out of town at the moment but should be back around the 1st of July. If you would like we can discuss details when you're available.

That will be next week at the earliest.
Thank you very much!

Default ABS Module Repair

Boy am I glad to have found this write-up. I have a 99 F150 4WABS with drums in the rear. Unable to locate a replacement. Sent the module to myairbags who is in the business of repairing modules. Returned as non-repairable due to hardware issues. When I received the unit back I notices that only one screw on the cover was touched, all the other five still had grease etc around the hex head. I called the repair facility to mention that it looked like the unit had not been opened. How did they diagnosed it??
It looks like this was something they did not want to get into. I bought six new screws as replacements which they sent to me.
What are your thoughts on this matter and are there other write-ups out there. If I cannot repair this unit it will have to run without the ABS.
Thank you for taking the time to start this thread.

I need some further explanation on using a Demal blade to cut open the box. This 1999 unit does not have a seam. The cover overlaps the bottom case. How do I cut out or remove the small bolts/screws that hold the cover. I can see drilling out the heads removing the cover then using vice-grips to remove the now studs. I already have replacement screws.
