Ok, I just cut the computer open. It went pretty flawlessly. I definitely went overly slow and cautious but thats better than to fast. I basically cut through the outer silicone layer and the plastic then cut through the inner layer of silicone with an Xacto knife and it popped apart nicely. I tested the MOSFET with a multimeter and the source and gate are shorted together, the large grounding tab is also shorted to the source and gate pins so that seems to be the culprit. I have that parts guy at my work ordering a MOSFET as a sample so Ill hopefully have it this week. Then Ill just have to get some thermal adhesive and put it all back together. Now my next question, will my ABS light go off on my dash when this is fixed? or will I have to get it reset? Thanks.

The ABS light should go off on its own. Glad to see that the MOSFET was the culprit.

The first time I started my truck after fixing the module my ABS light came on. I shut my truck off and started it again and the light went out. If you have problems getting the light to go out I would suggest disconnecting the battery...but if all is done right you should be ok. Good luck!

Ok so I finally got everything soldered back on and sealed the computer back up and the pump still runs continuously. If the repair goes as planned then does the pump turn off right away or does it take a few start and stops to turn off?

Hey dgable1, sorry it's taken so long to get back with you. Holidays and family.....etc etc. You're pump should have shut off by this point if the repair was done correctly. Is it still giving you the same problem as before? If so, there could be a couple of issues I can think of off the top of my head: you happened to get a bad mosfet chip when you ordered a new one (rare, but it does happen); or there is a short on the circuit board (maybe some solder that bridged the leads of the new mosfet). All speculation of course, but keep us posted on what you find out about it.

What are the added steps for permanent removal of the abs controller. I no longer need it nor does it work. Removing the fuses obviously, the controller, the brackets, the pump, re running brake lines..... But what about the harness and the computer on top? Thanks for the help on this. I need to install my new shock tower and the dam thing is in the way. Im a diy guy but Im still learning as I go.

Harness and computer on top? I'm not sure I'm following you Triton. The abs has the pump and on top of that the control module but I'm not sure what harness and computer you are referring to.

I cant give you solid advice on permanent removal of the entire assembly since I havent gone that far with it. On the control module there is only the electrical connector and four pain in the *** screws to remove in order to get the module off. Once that's done I would say start disconnecting the brake lines from the abs pump and find the mount hardware holding the pump on. Make sure you either wrap the electrical connector in a plastic bag and zip tie it up out of the way, or figure out a way to remove it all together. I'm interested in hearing from you when you get it all done. If you can, post some picture and let us know how it turned out.
