Default custom-ish pillar pod build

Alright since sometime ill be doing efans I decided to add a real time water temp gauge. I only wanted one gauge so I ordered an autometer single pillar pod, and got a new pillar from the junk yard, but it didnt have the grab handle, gotta fix that too.

so I marked where to drill for the handle and where i wanted the pod

Then to mount the grab handle you have to cut out part of the pillar, so I made a template from the stock one

and got both holes cut out

Yep looks factory to me

and with the pod stuck on there

Now, since I have a problem - Im a perfectionist - it has to look factory, So BONDO!

But it actually dont look too bad just mounted on there

but it had some gaps, and i already had the bondo, So I 'welded' it to the pillar with quiksteel

and put the first coat of bondo on

And im still working on it so ill update as i go

Bondo is the shiznit'!! When I was working at a window and door company in Ft. Walton Beach I repaired tons of metal doors with bondo. Thus saving the company lots of cash! I was a service rep, so I was always going out to new construction and repairing doors the builder where messing up, I also did alot of window frame repair.
My 2000 has some deep scratches on my driver rear wheel trim and i'm thinking of repairing it, so bondo here I come!

Looks pretty sweet so far. I'm interested to see how it'll look like after painting and installation. Nice job!
