98 expedition 5.4 l won't run

My expedition when I crank it the rpms will go to about 2500 and instantly die and cut off what can it be. Was thinking mass air flow sensor.

Well your options are limited, your best bet is to obtain a scanner and pull the codes without those even the best guys here can't do much for you. They're cheap now.
