4r70w trans or torque coverter dead please help.
01 xlt 5.4l merging on freeway put foot into pedal and right when truck down shifted it made a loud bang then a constant grinding noise .driveline stopped turning .220k on truck 100k on trans with shift kit.pulled trans thinking i would see something not sure.torque convert rattles a little when i shake it.any input would be great. thank you

You say you pulled the trans but didn't see anything. Did you actually break it down? Or just remove it.
Im suspicious about the torque converter if you say it rattles. Mine sorta of faintly made noise...but it didn't rattle. Dropping the pan will tell you alot more of the story too
