Default 2003 F150 V6 Check Engine Light Fix

I wanted to post the fix to my issues that I had with the truck. It has over 100k miles on it. The check engine light came on and the engine started to surge between the 50 and 60 mph. It eventually became worse over time and would surge or become sluggish at all speeds. That eventually led to the CEL blinking.

Here are the codes that were read: P0171, P0174, P0303, P0301, P0316

Steps to eliminate and fix:

1) Replaced the fuel filter
2) Cleaned the throttle body
3) Had the fuel injectors cleaned
4) Cleaned the MAF sensor
5) Replaced the air filter
6) Replaced the spark plugs and wiring
7) Replaced the coil pack

If the CEL comes back, you most likely have a vacuum leak in the top of the engine where some pins can warp over time.

Codes PO171 & PO174 pertain to lean mixture bank 1 (Pass side) and bank 2 (Drivers side). There is a TSB for this repair pertaining to replacement of the intake plenium isolator bolts and seals. Had this same exact problem with my 02 4.2L. A 20 minute fix which takes 3 Hours. Am at the library and code access book is not available for me to help with other codes. Good Luck.
