Haha good for you that you made out pretty well on that one. I wouldn't take a tundra over my f150 even if it was free. My dads 99 has barely needed any repairs besides normal maintenance items like brakes, etc. He doesn't baby the truck either its driven hard everyday and is tough. I hear those tundras are constantly going in the shop. A buddy of mine purchased an 08 tundra when I bought my f150 and it was in the shop constantly the first month he ended up returning the s*** box and bought an 08 ram.

I was driven into a while back. It crushed this Mustang's front panel while barely scratching my rear bumper. I was blown away. It's like these cars are flawless

Hey bro your right, they are taken in ona weekley basis.Got a friend who works for for wilde toyata(local stealership)and he was always telling me when we would drink on the weekends together that he was getting tired of fixing them(allot of them would have tranny slipige and the gears would grind)He was seeing ona weekly basis anywheres from 6-13 tundras a week. And ppl wonder why theur offer such a good warente on them, their always geting retuned, lolnow yes the f-150's are not perfect, but their way better than any tundra out their past, present and future ya'll.And yes i think i made out pretty well.i probly could have gotton more but i didnt want to push my luck and then get nothing, lol. And to think i got the 12grand without a lawyer getting invoved,****ing priceless, lol

yes they are great trucks and i love mine. They are however not completely bulletproof. Wifes little highlander did $3000 worth of damage when she backed into my 04 lariat screw, barely scratched her car. my truck has had a trasmission and rearend in the it's first 50k miles and dads 90k 04 tundra has been flawless i never hear the end of it, believe me i am hoping when he trades for the new tundra he gets his own. well not really but it would b e nice to rib him for a change.

All depends on where you're hit and items damaged that can raise the $ amount for repairs. Highlander bumper vs F150 sheetmetal, the Highlanders gonna win. Reverse that and the Highlander will be much more costly to repair. Bumper to bumper, I'd put my money on the 150.

The 1st Gen Tundra, though a little smaller than other 1/2 tons of the same years, was a quality built truck. Sorry guys, have to admit the truth here, but I still purchased an F150 (2002). Now from talking with members on Tundra sites, the 2nd Gen Tundra is much more problemsome, whether they admit them as problems or simply pass them off as a 1 in a million anomaly. These Tundra fans still brag up/down that the Tundra is better, simply due to the hp/lb-ft & 4.30 gears, even if their in the garage getting fixed more often now. Surprising, cause isn't that how many domestic owners used to be (it's all about the power) in the 80's/90's vs the imports (all about reliability)? Amazing how the tide is starting to turn. Well, until the 5.0L Coyote and 6.2L Boss/Hurricane (not sure what they are calling it these days) are released.

back in march i was driving about 65-70 at night and an isuzu ascender pulled out infront of me off of an access road as i was approaching an over pass. slammed on my brakes but still nailed him at atleast 55-60. he spun around behind me and i ended up against the guardrail in the oncoming lane. totaled my truck because of frame damage but i walked away with a mild cut on my forearm. ended up upgrading from an 04 XLT to an 07 4x4 XLT. no complaints here since there were no injuries. but yea that 04 took a beating and kept me safe

I love my truck for the same reason. Back in Feb, during a bad snow storm, I lost control on my way to work @ 5am. Got fandangled by an 18 wheeler. No injuries... $8,500 worth of damage. But was able to drive it home and then to the shop ( the accident was about 25miles from my house)... Took 5 weeks to fix it up. Drive it daily, it's like a new truck. They replaced the front & rear bumpers, valance, hitch, FR fog, entire bed & accessories, rhino lined it ( I had a cheap roll on) and fresh paint (80%) of the truck.
