When I said cheap/free mods. I ment like little things that you can do yourself. For instance my dad has a dodge cummins and there is a couple of freatures that the dealer can activate through the the dealer scanner tool. Like high idle and stuff for the diesel. I dont want cheap accesories, I mean things about the f150s that most people dont know about.

Paint to match headlights
You could pull your headlights off bake them in the oven long enough so you can separate the lens remove the reflector and paint the insides (not the lens) put it back together and be the first here to do this mod. Like the HD lights but painted to match your truck

for an alarm i would use the Clifford Matrix (its the one i have, it comes with the remote start/module for our trucks with the "chipped" keys) and you can add a "proximity" sensor, which you can set it very sensative, or not, so when people get close to the car, it starts to chirp, and then will go off, i have had many eggings and "flourings" (egg and baking flour mixed...not so nice) and the alarm has the 2 way pager. clifford and viper is the same thing/same company, the only reason i prefer clifford is because my buddy n i have the same truck, and he has the viper w/the 2way pager, and hes had a couple more problems than i have. thats my advice for that. as far as chrome goes, clean it with some degreaser, and then buy the chrome polish they sell at advanced or pep boys (i believe its meguires?)

Do we have chipped keys or not? I took it to walmart and they said it was chipped. But when I purchased the truck, the car saleman said go to walmart and get one cut. How long does it chirp before it goes off on the proximity sensor? What about in parking lots?

Yes our keys are chipped. I think it was aroung the 99 model year when Ford started using them in the F150s. It's very easy to program one but you need atleast two working keys to do it, otherwise it's a trip to the dealer. You can buy keys on ebay (around 10-15$), then get your local locksmith to cut them for a couple dollars. I don't know that wallyword sell keys for our trucks.
