trans temps/ towing with new motor
Hello all, after I got my new motor in I ordered a livewire ts with a custom tune from 5 star. So, now I can monitor temps and what not. Highest temp unloaded (no trailer and bed empty) so far has been 147. If I tow a camper or something larger say roughly 6k lbs what would be reasonable temps to expect? And how long would you go on a new reman motor(power source engine) before towing to say it is broke in? Thank you!

These are pretty much roller motors so cams dont really need to be broken in per say but I would probably start after the first oil change interval. What does the rebuilder say? I am from the mindset that you run it like you stole it from the get go. But that is just me

you might see temps of like 190-210ish if you're pushing her hard which is normal
I'd say first oil change or so? hell i've seen people right do it as soon as they installed the motor
what kind of mpgs u seeing with lift/gears?

I just realized I didn't specify trans temps of 147 lol. I just got 500 miles on the new motor today and an getting anxious to go camping! Gonna give it the first oil change this weekend. And I'm getting 11-12 in town right now. About 13-14 highway, given its not too windy. Any wind and I can watch the gas gauge go down.

And the rebuilding company says to take it easy the first 500 miles and do oil/filter. And no synthetic until after 5k miles. But nothing about towing.
