Angry Update now have Tranny issues.....

So my "new" truck needs a "new" tranny by the looks of things. The tranny fluid apparently is fried. The tranny shop is now testing my tranny. Man this sucks!!! Engine Oil was great and the coolant also appeared ok (flushed and filled with new fluids) Evo set to stock NO Change. Thats all for today.

then it has to be the radiator ....no other possibilities, unless they are missing something.

i have never heard my fan honestly, but i have mud grapplers so that kinda drowns out the sounds of anything..i can't see the fan not working making your trans temp that high. is there another shop around you can see what they think? it can only be so many things, ya know...

When you blocked off the rad and coolers and then removed the block the temp only dropped 5 or so degrees. If this is the case the rad is messed up, with no airflow the temp should increase and with the proper airflow it should drop to around the thermostat range given the proper adjustment for load and ambient. Could the engine really be working that hard due to messed up brakes or bad bearings, if it was you should have melted other parts due to the seized parts.

This may be a very out there idea but did any of the shops you went to check the radiator cap ability to hold pressure? A bad cap will cause the high engine temps because the fluid can't expand and hold the right boiling point even if the coolant is new and mixed right. This is a possibility for the high engine temps but rely wont hold up for the trany temp unless the trany is just getting hot because the engine is just working to hard with its over heating problem.

Just a cheap idea to test.
