Snuck up and attacked out of nowhere at 112,000 miles on my '07 S'crew 4x4 5.4 liter. Only does it at idle and when warmed up. Once the RPMs hit 1000 or so it seems to stop. However it sounds a bit different to me than the other videos I've seen of cam phaser noise. Not sure what to think.
I joined here under this same name back in 2002 when I bought my '02 FX4. Had some posts here and there but when I tried to log on with my phone I couldn't and ended up just starting over.

Yikes. That doesn't sound like a normal tick to me. I have it as well at idle but it's very faint and not nearly as loud or fast paced. The sound of yours is definitely different like you mentioned.
