Default Replace engine or do Cam phaser/chain/tensioner job?

my son's 2008 F150 XLT (5.4L V3) started running rough, and check engine light with codes p0303, p0304, p0306, p0340, and p0344.

drained and flushed oil, new oil filter, replaced cam sensors and installed new plugs. still ran bad. took to ford dealer. he verified codes and added another cylindercoil #4 code. He reccommended engine replacement, end of his story.

i've been studying cam phaser and timing chain/tensoner job and considering replacing cam chains, tensioners, phasers,.... and possible VCT solenoids. then i run accross this expiditon motor for $900. i'm not even certain doing the cam stuff will fix the probelm and clear codes.

anyone out there have similar problems? will replacing timing items fix/clear check engine code. or would just replacing the engine be best option. i can get a 2006 5.4 with 67k miles for $1000

Change all coil packs and fuel pump driver module (on top of spare tire, mounted on cross member) that should do the trick. Where is this 06 with 67k miles for $1000 located because I would like to buy it ?

change coils and fuel mod. this sound odd and out on limb. can you explain why you say these. coil i can understand, maybe.

i'll let you know if i don't use it. i paid the huy a deposit so he'll hold it for me. i should know by end of next week.
