Default Raptor running boards installed 08' pics.

Well my parents have the twin to my truck and my lovely mother smashed her running board and wanted my set LOL. So I went out and found a set of Raptor Screw running boards off a 2014. we all know with the 04-08 they dont directly bolt up with the back mount. most people just redrill the body farther down. I was itching to use the welder and my dad decided he wanted help fab something also.. so made new brackets and moved the running board back a little to give more room for the bed. onto the pics.. enjoy

fyi the holes are actually straight, the bracket is cut on an angle, that is visually screwing with you.. I was using up old trailer hitch stock I had laying around and had these peices already cut so why not....

First one was prob 3-4 hours just figuring out what I wanted to do. Also including digging thru my pile of scrap metal. 2nd one was prob 1.5 hours start to finish.

I could have done alot better job of finishing them up. but honestly they will never be seen again so who cares LOL. they dont flex at all and do the job so all good imo...

I would also like to point out I wasnt welding in sandals and socks... LOL.... I took that picture when I stopped to grill some food and was running between the house and grill, wife doesnt allow boots in the house

Dont take this wrong, they look great and you put some rewarding work into them. But why did you set them back so far from the wheel well? You said for bed access, but not sure how much it actually would help get into the bed. Overall, nice job.

No no what I meant was a set the bolt holes back a little to clear the bed. I didn't set the bar back farther from the wheel well. That's with the front mount in the stock location.

09+ bars on our 04-08. The front mount bolts up. Fine. But the rear is back to far. Being the cab is longer. If you search other guys that did this there's sit the same. All they did was drill the body in a diff location on the rear mount I didn't like that.

Same look. What your saying to center the board more I might actually do this at some point. Right now it doesn't bother me.

I have 2013 boards on mine and you are right, the fronts are fine. I just drilled new holes in the brackets and reused the holes in the body. Mine seem pretty centered.

lol. Not like anyone cares. But I have centered the running boards since this post. I actually took the brackets I made flipped sides and put them on the front. Now centered and perfect.
